Our mission for constructXR is to deliver new, more efficient ways of working, learning and designing for the built environment through the use of Mixed Reality on live construction sites.
We have been recording and sharing our activity and research on our website and social media channels.
In the BLOG section you will find links to our construct.XR video content.
Working with design teams our mission is to deliver new, more efficient ways of working, learning and designing for the built environment. We train our project partners in the use of Mixed Reality on live construction sites across the East of England. This allows Architects, Designers, Engineers, Project Managers and Main Contractors to experiment with Mixed Reality holographic design (a combination of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality) to improve overall coordination and productivity. XLWerks is one of the first design practices in the region to use Mixed Reality on all of it’s projects.
ConstructXR is delivering training to its project partners in the use of the Microsoft Hololens 2 and the Trimble XR10 for Hololens, demonstrating it’s capabilities through any of the RIBA work stages 1-6.
What we're passionate about
The team behind constructXR is passionate about continually improving the practical implementation of Mixed Reality. We are recording our findings to overcome challenges faced onsite and highlighting where potential improvements can be made.
The data we collect will be drawn together to provide a conclusive report on the impact of Mixed Reality in construction. This will allow us to contribute to recommendations as to how the technology can be improved. Once completed, this report will provide compelling data on the implementation of Mixed Reality which will better inform future bids, proposals, business transformation strategies and time-lines of construction projects.
